The Weymouth Supporter's Association is now in business !

This website is therefore closed.

CVA Statement
Images: Weymouth FC SA logo.JPGThis is just a short statement to say that we welcome today's agreement of the CVA and the consequent substantial reduction in the Club's debt.

There obviously remain matters that need clarification and it is right that we seek answers to these. The Supporter's Association will be meeting with George Rolls early next week to discuss these and the way forward for the Club. We also need to understand the implications of the 28 day appeal period. We are keen that the Club's directors make an early statement on these and other matters and that George Rolls himself holds a fans forum as soon as possible - he has previously assured Supporter's Group's that he has every intention of doing so.

We hope all Terras fans will join us in wanting to move forward starting with support for our team at tomorrow's match against Thurrock. We have come very, very, close indeed over past months to seeing the end of Weymouth FC. However, as a consequence of today's decision we still have a Club and hopefully now, the opportunity to rebuild, if we can do so in a spirit of unity and openess.

Merger of the WFC Supporters Club & The Terras Trust.
Images: Weymouth FC SA logo.JPG

The EGM of the Terras Trust and The Supporters Club was held in The Weyline Lounge, as publicised, on Thurday 18th March.

Existing members of both groups heard our proposals for the merged body and cast their votes to conclude the merger. Members voted overwhelmingly to accept the new constitution, the operating proposals and the nominated members of the new board.

The new organisation will be known as Weymouth F.C Supporters Association and is effective immediately. We will be holding our first board meeting within the next two weeks where we will decide the roles of individual board members. We are now hoping for a successful conclusion for Weymouth F.C in it's CVA application on Friday 26th March. This will give us all the opportunity to work together towards achieving and maintaining a stable basis for football in Weymouth.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Terras fans for their support and patience throughout the time it has taken to organise our merger. In due course, as things develop, we will be releasing much more information on the Supporters Association before giving fans the chance to join and become members.

Trust and Supporter's Club Statement on the CVA

Committee and Board members from Weymouth F.C Supporters Club and The Terras Trust are hoping that the events of the next couple of weeks will pave the way for a stable future for Weymouth F.C.

We believe that the vast majority of fans want to see Weymouth F.C continue in its current form and playing its football at The Wessex Stadium. With that firmly in mind we are supporting the club as it seeks creditors’ approval of its proposed company voluntary arrangement. We are very much aware that the process carries a high element of risk, but if successful it will see Weymouth F.C on a far more stable financial footing than we have seen for a long time. We have learned that supporters who purchased ‘Terras Saviours 100’ packages will be recognised as creditors and therefore are entitled to vote towards the conclusion of the CVA. More information is available from The Trust or Supporters Club and we would ask any ‘Saviours’ wishing to support the CVA to contact us.

If the CVA application is successful the club will have the chance to steadily rebuild and find its comfortable, sustainable level within both the local community and the wider football pyramid. We have met several times with George Rolls and have heard some of the plans and initiatives that he has in mind for Weymouth F.C. We have asked George Rolls for an open forum where fans can put their questions to him and hear some of those plans for themselves. We hope to arrange this shortly.

In regard to the proposed merging of the Terras Trust and the Supporters Club we are now rapidly approaching conclusion. All existing members of both organisations have been invited to an Extra General meeting in the Weyline Lounge on Thursday 18th March. At the meeting members will be given the opportunity to hear and discuss our proposals before casting decisive votes. Postal and proxy votes are also available, details of which have been sent to members.

We urge all Terras fans to look towards a positive future for football in Weymouth. If the CVA is accepted and a new single supporters group is launched then we will then have the opportunity to draw a line under much that has gone wrong and focus all of our combined energies on rebuilding Weymouth F.C and establishing it once again as a credible name in non-league football.

Terras V Magpies Paintball Fundraiser
We are organising a Paintball session on Sunday 25th April. We have set 25 places for Terras supporters and have spoken to the Dorchester supporters who have another 25 places.. The cost will be £20.00 and will include the first 200 pellets.

The session will be in the morning between 9.00 and 12.30 and if wanted we could arrange a BBQ afterward.

This will be a great way to celebrate the end of a very long season, doing what we enjoy most - beating Dorchester!!

This will be one of the first fundraisers for the new supporters association, and we hope we can end the season with a bit of fun(and less drama).

We will need a deposit of £10.00 beforehand from all people taking part . If you are interested please email me at ralph_ricardo@hotmail.com

Latest Merger proposals and news from Meetings with George Rolls
The combination of Weymouth F.C Supporters Club Committee and The Terras Trust Board are pleased to be able to report updated news regarding the merger of the two organisations along with new, very positive developments in our links with Weymouth Football Club itself. The process of the merger is now gathering pace towards a set of formal proposals being offered to the membership of both organisations.

The single new organisation is to be named Weymouth F.C Supporters Society and will combine the basic core principles and values from both individual existing groups. Members are now working on the finer points of aspects such as; membership, structure, finance,
WFC shareholding strategy, direct support to WFC and affiliation to national supporters bodies. A timetable has been set working towards formal proposals being offered to the membership of both groups around mid March, leading onto the public launch of WFC Supporters Society in early April 2010.

Combined members of both existing supporters groups have now held several positive meetings with George Rolls, discussing the club’s current situation, and looking ahead towards the development of strong supporter representation within the club structure. Mr Rolls is very keen for supporters to be involved in the running of the club and have direct influence on key issues as the club moves forward. To strengthen that aim he initially offered us the opportunity of director’s positions within the club board. The collective feeling among members however is that, whilst previous supporter’s directors have worked tirelessly to represent us, the directorship itself hasn’t achieved the benefit anticipated and so we are keen to explore different channels.

As a result we have, during talks with Mr Rolls, agreed that we will represent supporters by forming a new Management Committee directly within the structure of Weymouth Football Club. The Management Committee will initially be made up of members from within
WFC Supporters Club / Terras Trust and then WFC Supporters Society once our merger is concluded. The Management Committee will fill an active role in all aspects of the running of the club including influence on key decision making by attending WFC board meetings.

To show his commitment to supporters, George Rolls has also stated his intention to offer a ‘Golden Share’ to be held ultimately by
WFC Supporters Society. This will immediately give us the power of a major shareholder within Weymouth Football Club and will be added to the written constitution of the Club to ensure that it remains within the terms and conditions of any future takeover / change of ownership. Adding to this, Mr Rolls has stated his wish to eventually pass control of Weymouth Football Club directly over to supporters, although this will clearly be a longer term issue.

Members of
WFC Supporters Club and The Terras Trust believe that this is a major step forward towards fans having a controlling interest in the Club’s well being and a safeguard to it’s future. Over the coming months we will be actively encouraging existing and new members to step forward, adding to our skill-base, to allow us to be as strong as possible within the new structure of both Weymouth Football Club and WFC Supporters Society.

During our recent meetings with Mr Rolls we have found him to be open and direct about his plans. He has shown us evidence of the club’s current financial state and his achievements so far in reducing that burden. We hope that this openness will continue going forwards and that as much information as possible will be made available to the wider fan-base. Above all we will continue to work for that long sought unity of purpose between supporters and our football club.

As usual,
WFC Supporters Club and The Terras Trust welcome any feedback from members through the normal channels and by email to the following addresses.
